Who Was Hatshepsut?

Hatshepsut was a pharoah, who happened to be a woman. She ruled Egypt between 1508 BC until 1458 BC. Her reign is considered to be long, prosperous and peaceful for Egypt.

Why was Hatshepsut so important??

Hatsheput was famous for SO many things.  For starters, it was VERY rare for a women to become a Pharaoh.  At that time,  women didn't have  many rights so I say YOU GO GIRL FOR SHOWING THOSE MEN WHO'S BOSS!! ;) Another thing, of coarse, is her OUTSTANDING buildings and monuments (in case you forgot)... the obelisks and The Great Mortuary Temple.  Also, which is so fascinating, is around 1492 BC, Hatshepsut went on a trade expedition with 5 ships down the Red Sea. The point of this exposition was to get myrrh, cinnamon, frank incense, gold & ivory...I know, I know it sounds boring, but there were several reasons why this expedition was important.  First, it was the first time trees (myrrh) had been transplanted to another area and survived!!!  Secondly, she reestablished trade networks that had been disrupted for a long time. And finally, she changed the way trading happened by cutting out the middle man.  SOUNDS LIKE SUPER WOMEN TO ME!!

    2. actually the reason why he didn't know about her is because she became pharao is because when her sons father died he was to young to be pharao so she did then when her son was ready to be pharao she did not want to pass down the power so there was tis big fight that went down (look it up) her son finally became pharao and he once he did he almost buried all the stuff she built but people found stuff about her then found out who she was so it makes sense that he did't know who she was
